Our Background
The IRREGULATORS is an independent consortium of senior telecom experts, analysts, forensic auditors, and lawyers who are former staffers from the FCC, state advocate and Attorneys General Office, as well as telecom auditors and consultants. Members of the group have been working together, in different configurations, since 1999
Billions Back for Broadband & Lower Prices-- Solve the Digital Divide
Our recent financial analysis, based on Verizon's NY 2019 Annual Report, estimates that the wired local telephone service in New York was overcharged an estimated $1.1-$1.6 billion, in just 2019 alone! Nationwide, this means that local telephone service was overcharged an estimated $16-$23 billion. These are big numbers!
The Dark Telecom Secret: Over the years, billions of dollars of expenses have been placed on the books of the local telephone services to pay for the construction of the fiber optic cable that forms the backbone of the wireless networks. Other corporate (not local) expenses were also added to those accounting books – everything from executive pay to lobbyists and lawyers, and even the corporate jets!

Moreover, the old FCC accounting rules have made the local telephone services appear unprofitable, so that these companies have vastly underpaid the taxes they would otherwise owe to states.
IRREGULATORS v FCC was a victory for us all. Now the state utility commissions can step in and redirect this money away from wireless, stop the financial shenanigans and require the telecoms to bring fiber optic broadband to every phone customer in America, just like they promised.

Funding is now critical to take on the telecoms and the legal and regulatory challenges and start this new major nationwide effort.
The current pandemic has brought the digital divide into sharp relief for everyone to see. Throughout the US there are thousands of groups that passionately care about this issue. It is time to focus on a plan that goes after the phony bookkeeping of the telecoms and moves the agenda to a wired, fiber optic solution, while convincing others that 5G wireless is not the solution.
This “Municipality and State Opportunity Plan” takes what we are doing in NY State (and City) and, with funding, will be modified for all other cities and states. Please help us expand these efforts with this new approach.
We're up against a 1.74 trillion dollar industry! Your support is critical to our success.
